Christopher Whitlatch is a storyteller, world-builder, and creator of Adventurer Brands, a collection of books and games designed to inspire imagination and real-world impact. He writes children’s series like Animal Heroes, blending science, adventure, humor, and hands-on activities to help kids explore nature and discover their own superpowers. His work also spans mystery, history, and interactive storytelling, often incorporating puzzles and games into the reading experience. In addition to his creative work, Christopher partners with communities and organizations on projects focused on clean energy, clean air, and protecting the places we call home. He lives in Pittsburgh and is always working on his next adventure.

Notorious Pittsburgh is a collection of my favorite notorious stories from Pittsburgh’s past that I have been telling for several years now. The book features more than 20 stories, including the first bank robbery, a famous jailbreak, as well as several stories from our former red light district as well as the prohibition era. Along the twists and turns, there are several chases, appearances of organized crime, and even my prediction for a potential notorious event in Pittsburgh. The book features the infamous Dante “Tex” Gill, Vice King George Lee, and Richard Henkel, Pittsburgh’s serial killer that preyed on the rackets. I hope you enjoy reading these true crime stories as much as I have enjoyed telling them.
